Every time someone asks me to introduce myself, my brain freezes.

Not because I don’t know what I do — but because I do too many things.

Depending on who’s asking, I’m a creative director, a studio founder, a CGI nerd, a university lecturer, a YouTuber, a CGI motion designer, or some strange mix of all of the above. And in that split second where I’m supposed to say “Hi, I’m Ronald…”, my mind starts racing:

Who is this person? What do they already know? Which version of me is actually relevant here?

That moment always feels oddly high-stakes. Get it wrong and I either sound confusing, inflated, or completely undersell what I actually do.

So I finally decided to stop winging it and build a system for introducing myself.

Not a single elevator pitch — but a small set of short, intentional ways to describe what I do, depending on the situation.

I came across a simple framework in a social media video that clicked instantly. It wasn’t about being clever or salesy. It was about aligning what you say with what the listener actually cares about. And for the first time, I felt like I had a way to talk about my work without awkwardly juggling all my different hats.

This post is my attempt to write those introductions down — and remember them when I need them.

And if you’re a creative type, you probably know this feeling too — juggling multiple hats, never quite sure which version of yourself to present. If that’s you, this exercise might be useful for you too.

Anyway, here’s my personal short introduction for myself to memorise and practice. At least, for 2026.
